At around 10:00 a.m., the person in distress entered the direct ascent stream on the southeast face of the Chihashiri River and was climbing the stream. At around 0:10 p.m. on the same day, while climbing a rocky area at an elevation of 1,020 meters, a rock collapsed and he slipped down about 5 meters, injuring his head and others. At around 0:40 p.m. on the same day, his companion called the fire department and requested rescue. The local fire rescue team and the Hokkaido Police Mountain Disaster Rescue Team transported the person in distress and rescued him.
